Flashback to junior year of high school. It was a typical Tuesday afternoon, and there was a prediction of 2 feet of snow. I had just wrapped up school and the lesson of the day was whether we would have a cancellation. All the seniors where hoping for school so graduation wasnt pushed back anymore, while the underclassmen where hoping for the snowday. All of my eight classes for the day had been about whether or not we would have school tomorrow. After anonymously hearing yes from everyone BUT the board of ed, all that was left for me to do was wait. Once I got back from swim practice it was already almost nine o’clock and there was still no word from the townI logged into facebook and my newsfeed had been spammed with peers demanding that everyone sleep with their pjs backwards (idk if this ment inside out or backwards) and put a frozen spoon under their pillow, so that supposedly it would snow. I later went to bed and when I woke up the next morning I grabbed my phone and checked facebook again to see if there was any news yet.
This is when I would see pages upon pages of statuses saying NO SCHOOL!!!. Though these statuses would save me the wait for my town to pop up on the tv, why do people feel the need to post this when EVERYONE already knows.
People should now that once you see three or four of these posts come up on your feed, it just gets plain annoying. Not only do people find the need to post how we have no school, they also think its necessary to complain about the people posting how there is no school. Though I am just as exited as the next catholic for the new pope, this undergoes the same rule. There is no need for everyone to go on facebook and announce that there is a new pope. If you want to be like everyone else and pretend that you care go on twitter and use a hashtag, much more appropriate and less annoying.
